On one particular flight the pilot had hammered his plane into the runway really hard.<\/p>\n

The airline had a policy which required the first officer to stand at the door while the passengers exited, give a smile, and a \u201cThanks for flying XYZ airline.\u201d<\/p>\n

In light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the passengers in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart comment, but no one seemed annoyed.<\/p>\n

Finally everyone had gotten off except for one little old lady walking with a cane. She approached and asked conspiratorially,<\/p>\n

\u201cSonny, mind if I ask you a question?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy no Ma\u2019am, what is it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDid we land or were we shot down?\u201d<\/p>\n
