This ’incident’ caused the USAF to ground its fleet of F-15’s.<\/p>\n

\nWhat caused the mid-air break up?<\/p>\n

The main ”longeron” (stringer) behind the cockpit failed due to corrosion.<\/p>\n

Talk about being in the right place at the right time (the photographer)…or the wrong place at the wrong time (the pilot)…..<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
