The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The interviewer asked her questions about her life,\u00a0about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband\u2019s occupation. \u201dHe\u2019s a funeral director,\u201d she answered.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201dInteresting,\u201d the newsman thought.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He then asked her if she wouldn\u2019t mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker\u00a0<\/span>when she was in her 20\u2032s, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40\u2032s, and a preacher when in her 60\u2032s, and now \u2013 in her 80\u2032s \u2013 a funeral director.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(Wait for it)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She smiled and explained<\/p>\n

”I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
