Some years ago a small rural town in Spain twinned with a similar town in Greece.<\/span>
\n<\/span>The mayor of the Greek town visited the Spanish town.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

When he saw the palatial mansion belonging to the Spanish mayor, he wondered aloud how on earth he could afford such a house.<\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>The Spaniard replied: <\/span><\/div>\n
\u2018You see that bridge over there? The EU gave us a grant to construct a two-lane bridge,\u00a0<\/span>but by building a single lane bridge with traffic lights at either end, I could build this place.\u2019<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/span>The following year the Spaniard visited the Greek town. <\/span><\/div>\n
He was simply amazed at the Greek mayor’s house: gold taps, marble floors, diamond doorknobs, it was marvellous.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nWhen he asked how he\u2019d raised the money to build this incredible house, <\/span><\/div>\n
the Greek mayor said: <\/span><\/div>\n
\u2018You see that bridge over there?\u2019<\/span><\/div>\n

\nThe Spaniard replied: \u2018No.\u2019<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
